Our Top 5 Ideas to Appreciate your Mother!

With Mother’s Day coming up, I bet many of you are scrambling to find your annual token of appreciation for your hard-working mom. If you’re at your wit’s end, here are a few ideas that may help to inspire you!

Here are some ideas to make this day special and memorable for her.

5. Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner
You can always treat your mother out to dinner, but cooking definitely requires a lot of thought and effort. Step into your mom’s shoes and give her hands a break from cooking. A nice breakfast or brunch in bed, or an elaborately planned out dinner will definitely make your mother feel appreciated. That is, of course, if you do the dishes too.

4. Flowers Fade, but Cards Last Forever!
I usually make my mom a card every year, and it can be pretty hard to think of something you haven’t said before. But nevertheless, I know my mom still appreciates it because she keeps every single one! So while you can purchase fleeting flowers with a simple “Love, ____”, consider writing something from the heart to your mother. Come up with creative ways to decorate it too! It doesn’t matter if you’re “artsy” or not, anything that shows effort will be noted by the one who knows you best.

3. Hugs, Kisses, and I Love Yous
When was the last time you hugged or kissed your mother? Or told her you loved her? For Mother’s Day, give your mother a real bear hug– and we mean the kind that lasts more than 10 seconds. Give her a kiss, tell her you LOVE her, and how much you appreciate all of her efforts. It might make her cry, but we hope they’ll be tears of joy!

2. Gifts
If you want to show your appreciation by purchasing your mother something, think of something either practical or decorative. A photo frame or vase of flowers would be nice, or maybe purchase music that she enjoys. If you have some budget, put together a “favorite things” basket and fill it with all the things that she loves! Maybe it’s gardening, tennis, cooking, or scrapbooking! Whatever it is, include some fun knick knacks or gadgets, some of her favorite chocolates, and include a note about why you chose those certain items.

1. A Mixbook!
Okay, we might be a little biased, but it’s seriously a good idea. What better way to combine all of the previous ideas into one? Making a Mixbook with family photos, heart felt words, and beautiful page spreads is the perfect gift to appreciate your mother.

If you’re worried about it getting to you in time, don’t worry. Mixbook currently has a special promotion: Free Rush Processing on all books, only until May 3rd! That’s this Sunday! That means that you choose Next Day Air for shipping and we’ll rush process it for you. This leaves you enough time to make one over the weekend and have it in your hands before Mother’s Day. If you don’t have enough time to make one from scratch, we have a Mother’s day template for you. Click here to get started, then select the Mother’s Day theme.

Remember, as long as it’s from the heart, it is good enough for her. :) Have a wonderful weekend and be sure to check back for more specials and exciting updates from Mixbook!
