Mixbook Editor 101: 5 Sticker Tools You Need to Know

Sticker Toolbar Pin

The last three Mixbook 101 classes (How to Customize Photo Books: The 4 Tools You Need to KnowCustomize Photo Projects with Mixbook’s Editor Title and Option Bar, and How to Use the Mixbook Editor’s Editing Area) covered the basics of the photo toolbar. Today, we will take a look at the sticker toolbar. The sticker toolbar consists of five buttons that should look very familiar! :) We’ll move from left to right, briefly describing each button’s function.

Sticker Flip Button

1. Flip
This button will flip the selected sticker, mirroring its original image.

Although not on the actual toolbar, we want to take the time to point out the free rotation icon. Just like with photos, clicking on the circle will allow you to freely rotate your sticker to the left or right.

Sticker Styles Button

2. Style Tools
The style tools available for stickers include the shadow, reflection, and transparency styles. To learn more about these styles and how to use them, check out the complete Style Tools tutorial.

Sticker Layering Buttons

3. Bring Forward and Send Back
The next two buttons go hand in hand. Clicking on the respective button will either bring your sticker forward a “layer,” or send it back. The following screen shot will show you the same sticker placed on different “layers” on the page.

Sticker Span Button

4. Sticker Span
Toggle this button to stretch a sticker across two pages, or limit it to a single page.

Remove Sticker Button

5. Remove Sticker
Just like on the photo toolbar, this last button will remove the sticker from the page.

So there you have it! Everything you need to know to fully utilize the sticker toolbar. If you’re feeling a little daring, why not upload your own stickers? If you know of any sites with some great digital stickers, be sure to let us know in the comment section below!

It would be so nice if you would add a freehand cropping tool! I would use Mixbooks so much more if this option was available!

    Hi Carol!
The best way to make your stickers the same size is to resize one sticker how you wish it to be on your page, then copy and paste the exact same sticker! To do so, first select the object you wish to copy using your mouse. To copy multiple objects, use your mouse to drag a box over all of the elements you wish to copy. Alternately, you can hold down shift and click on each object you’d like to copy. Right click (control-click on a Mac), and then select: “Copy Selection.” Then right click where you’d like to paste your objects and select “Paste Selection.”
We hope this helps! Please let us know if we may be of any further assistance. :)
    Best Regards,
    Veronica

How do I add a photo to a frame type of sticker? Specifically, I would like to use a circular frame and have a photo fit in nicely. The feature exists, for instance, on certain layouts in the Baby Girl theme photo book. The circular frame has an “add photo” button in the middle.

    Hi Brianna,
You can use your photo style tools to crop your photo into a certain shape. This blog entry will show you how to access and use those tools. Happy Mixbooking!

Hi Elle, Thanks for the tip. This is the workaround I figured out, but found the sizing for the circular shapes (photo cut-out & the frame) to be a little inaccurate to line up cleanly. Think I will copy/paste the circular frame with the “add photo” button that I have come across.
