Stop number two on our road trip through the Mixbook editor brings us to the Title and Option Bar, which allows you to customize photo projects in convenient, user-friendly ways.
This bar displays the title of your current project. On the right, you see different option buttons. These buttons very depending on the type of project you are editing. We’ll take a look at the buttons that appear when you edit a photo book first, as this type of project displays the most options.
- Theme: This button allows you to change your project’s current theme. Please note that using this button will not modify what you have currently created. Instead, it will change the selection that appears in the Theme section of your Layouts, Backgrounds, and Stickers Tabs.
- AutoMix: This button AutoMixes your entire project. It randomly places photos from your photo tray into your photo book. The layouts are pulled from your project’s current theme. Please note that this feature cannot be undone, and will overwrite any existing work. If you would like to try this feature, but want to keep the work you’ve already created, we suggest you make a copy of your photo book and AutoMix the copy.
- Save: This button saves any changes, edits, or additions made to your project. If it is grayed out (like in the above screen shot), your work has already been saved, either by you or our autosave feature.
- Preview: Clicking this button opens a window within the editor, allowing you to preview the pages in your photo book. While viewing the preview, you will not be able to make edits to your project.
- Invite: This button allows you to invite friends and family to contribute to your project. A new window opens up and you can enter the e-mail addresses of those whom you’d like to become contributors. Once they accept your invitation, they will be allowed to make changes to your project.
- Help: Clicking here gives you a quick guided tour of the editing window, which is similar to what you are reading now!
- Order: This button closes the editor and takes you directly to our ordering page.
The following screen shots show the option buttons that appear when you edit calendars and cards.
The Calendar Editor
The Card Editor
While the calendar and card editors have fewer buttons, their functions remain the same. With your new knowledge, why not start a photo book and try inviting contributors?
Stay tuned to Mixblog to continue our road trip. You may also return to the main Road Map here. Happy Mixbooking!

Your “invite” button has never worked. I have tried it over and over.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for letting us know! We will pass this along to our engineering team so they can get to fixing that button! In the meantime, if you would like to share your projects with friends and family, you can always copy and paste your projects unique URL into an e-mail. To retrieve this URL, click on the project title from your home page. When the page loads, you’ll want to use that URL. We hope this helps!
I want to make some changes and save an old calendar under a new name.
Hi Kelly!
You can definitely change the title of a project you have previously ordered! However, we would recommend creating a copy of your project to make changes to and changing the title of that project so that the original will still remain in your account! You can copy your project to the same size or change it to a different size by clicking “copy” to the right of your project, then choosing a size to copy your project to in the drop down menu. You can choose to include the photos already in the original project or omit them by unchecking the box next to “Include Photos”. Next, click the blue “copy” button. Additional information can be found here in our tutorial! http://blog.mixbook.com/copy-project/ Please contact us at support@mixbook.com if you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns, and we’d be happy to help!
Best Regards,
Veronica
While being in the middle of creating a large photo book, by husband closed out of the page. When I went back to it, I couldn’t find where it had saved so I had to start all over again. If this happens again, where can I find my project?
Hello Julie,
Thanks for your question! Our Mixbook Editor will actually automatically save your work each time you change the page, so it is likely that your work was saved prior to closing. You can always access your projects that are currently in progress at: http://www.mixbook.com/home.
If you encounter additional issues saving, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Have a great week and we hope you enjoy Mixbook!
