Tutorial: How to Add Your Mixbook to Facebook

Hello Mixbookers,

There have been a few questions sent to us about how to post your photo books to Facebook, and it’s so easy that we’re going to teach you how to do it! Check it out!

1. Go to your Mixbook’s viewing page and highlight the website URL link

Then you’ll want to click CTRL+C  or right-click to Copy the link. Be sure that your book is not set to private — it must be public in order to share it on Facebook.

2. Go to Facebook and paste the website link into the comment box for your wall or someone else’s wall

You’ll notice that the thumbnail for your book will appear — then all you have to do is click “Share” to share it on the wall. You’re practically done!

3. Once you share it, you can click to play your book!

4. Then your book will pop out and play! You’re done!

Now all you need to do is invite your friends and family to take a look at your new Mixbook creation!

Best,
Alison

I followed the directions to post my photobook to my facebook page. Only the link appeared on my facebook page – not the thumbnail of my book AND when you click on the link – it brings you to my account page on mixbook. Not what I want. Please help?

    Hi Paula,
Would you be able to check the settings of your Mixbook project? Your settings will need to be set to “Everyone” in order for the project to appear on your wall. Hope this helps!

I have used the information above, but when I click on the link in my blog and it plays my book, the book i VERY large on the screen and cuts off some of the pictures. Is there a way to adjust this? I looked in the code, but didn’t know exactly what to change.

    Hi Morgan,
The ends of your book may be cut off because the original book was created in landscape format. Because our embedded application is in square form, the ends subsequently get cut off. We would suggest creating a copy of your book and changing the size to a square book such as an 8×8, then posting the new book to your site. We hope this helps!

I successfully posted my latest book on Facebook by following the above instructions. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear smart enough to know the aspect ratio of the book…it just presents my 11×8.5″ book in a square window so a good chunk of each page gets chopped off, making it look like I did a very bad job on the design. Hmmmm.

    Hi Eric,
At this time, the way the books embed are on a square format. May we suggest making a copy of the book into a square size? We will definitely pass this along to our engineering team, so that they may work on allowing the embed feature to accommodate for all book sizes!

Can the public order copies of my book? How does this work? Can I set a price over my costs? Thanks for your reply, K

  • Kim Scott March 11, 2012, 1:18 pm

… and yes, please do talk to your engineering team about making the embed feature accommodate for all book sizes! This is really the only way I will embed the book, as a square format will look wrong with my layout. I would be happy to get your product out there under the right circumstances. Best of luck to you! K

    Hello-
I tried sharing my card on Facebook and the link says “You are trying to access an imaginary link” and it also does not show my thumbnail image. My settings are showing as “everyone” do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

  • Elle Daquioag March 12, 2012, 7:17 am

    Hi Kim,
If your book is set to a public setting, others will be able to order your project. At this time, we do not have a feature that allows creators to set a higher price and sell their Mixbooks directly from our site. Mixbook does, however, offer an affiliate program that allows our affiliates to make commission on books that are purchased with their affiliate reference ID. If you wish to look into this option, you can do so by visiting: http://www.mixbook.com/affiliates We hope this helps!

    Hi Lisa,
Would you be able to e-mail the link you are trying to use as well as the project title to support@mixbook.com? Our customer care team can take a look and help you get that card shared! :) Thank you!

It is a severe disadvantage that books only appear in square format on Facebook. It makes my project look flawed. Is Mixbook working on that?

  • Elle Daquioag April 16, 2012, 8:50 am

    Hi Darlene,
We’re so sorry that the square format makes your project look flawed! We will definitely pass thing along to our engineering team so that you can proudly display your project! If you have any further suggestions or ideas, please feel free to e-mail support@mixbook.com. We love hearing from our users on ways to better their Mixbook experience!
